Why We Offer a Free Design Service
At our core, we’re not interested in creating gimmicks. We’re here to build products that actually solve real problems on set.
Too often, the industry is flooded with overcomplicated gear or overpriced solutions that don’t quite do what crews need them to do. We believe there’s a better way, and that starts with listening.
Built from Real Set Experience
Our Director, Alex, comes from a background in robotic engineering and fabrication, and has had the privilege of working across a variety of sets. That said, he doesn’t claim to be an expert in every aspect of live production — and that’s exactly the point.
What he has seen firsthand are the everyday challenges crews face. The small frustrations. The “why doesn’t this exist?” moments. The problems that seem simple but somehow remain unsolved, or are only available at unreasonable prices.
That’s where this service begins.

Designed With You, Not For You
We offer a free design service because the best ideas don’t come from guessing, they come from collaboration.
You bring us your real world problems:
- The thing that slows you down on set
- The tool you wish existed
- The workaround you’re tired of relying on
We take that insight and turn it into something practical, functional, and built around your needs.
What You Get
By working with us, you benefit from:
- A bespoke solution tailored to your workflow
- Practical designs that prioritise usability
- Fair, reasonable pricing, no inflated costs
We have the in house skills to design and engineer these solutions efficiently, without the overheads that often drive prices up elsewhere.
Tip and Go Cart
The client wanted a cart that would be able to tip backwards and move easily around set obstacles.
Aluminium Flag Frames
The Client wanted a flag frame that would not blow around in the wind when on location.
What We Gain
This isn’t just about delivering a product, it’s about learning.
Every project gives us deeper insight into how crews actually work. That knowledge allows us to:
- Improve future designs
- Develop standard products that genuinely serve the industry
- Build a range of solutions shaped by real needs, not assumptions
In many cases, your ideas go on to influence products that help other crew members as well.
Why It’s Free
We’re able to offer this service at no cost because of the expertise we have in house.
Alex brings together:
- CAD expertise from his fabrication background
- Design knowledge from his design engineering degree
- Practical engineering experience from years of hands on work
- A problem solving mindset shaped by building robotics
That combination allows us to move quickly from idea to design without unnecessary expense.
A Partnership That Works Both Ways
This free design service is a collaboration.
We work with you, for you, and in the process, we build better products for everyone.
You get a solution that actually works on set.
We get the insight to keep improving what we create.
And together, we move away from gimmicks and toward gear that genuinely makes a difference.
